Rita Lucille Painter, 69 of Merriam Woods, Mo

Rita passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at her home in Merriam Woods, MO. She was born on August 1, 1949 at Topeka, KS., daughter of Carl and Mary Lucille (Gunthrey) Duncan.

Rita moved to Merriam Woods, in 2005.  She loved her work in Branson at Developmental Connections and the kids on Saints Street.

Survivors include her children, Michelle Newman of Merriam Woods, Mo., and Matthew Painter of Joplin, MO.; grandchildren Autumn Terry and husband Zach of Miami, OK., Jonah Caughorn and Ashley of Webb City, MO., Reason Newman and Tyler Williams both of Merriam Woods, MO.; Great-grandchildren, Brylan Terry and Camden Terry both of Miami, OK., Bentlee Stark, Cameron Caughorn, and Thor Caughorn all of Webb City, MO., Sister, Carla McCoy of Galena, KS.;  nieces Terry Duncan and Leslie Leshing; and nephews Steven Cockerel, Aaron Cockerel, and Randy Cockerel.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kim Pasini and husband Greg; Brother in-law, Bill McCoy and nephew, Randy Cockerel.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The service of cremation has been entrusted to Whelchel Grace Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
