Nancy Sue Montee, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025. She was born on March 30, 1932, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Joshua Grove and Sula Eva (Rhoads) Grove. Nancy spent much of her life in Tulsa before retiring in 1987 and moving to the Ozarks, where she made her home.
Nancy worked as a florist, a profession well suited to her creativity and love of beauty. Outside of work, she was an avid quilter and sewer, a devoted gardener, and a collector extraordinaire, known for her carefully curated treasures and keepsakes. Her hands were rarely idle, and her talents were shared generously with those she loved. On June 27, 1953, Nancy married Ralph E. Montee in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together they shared many years of marriage and raised four children: Ranan Gangel, Anita (Dave) Storts, Stephen (Rhonda) Montee and Sally (David) Thomas.
Nancy or “Mimi” was known to her ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. She was a faithful member of Community Presbyterian Church in Forsyth, Missouri, where she found fellowship and spiritual comfort.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Montee; her parents, Kenneth and Sula Grove; and her brother, Harry Grove. She is survived by her four children and her extended family, who will cherish her memory and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road, Springfield, MO 65804.
Final arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Missouri.
