Monty Gene Deckard

Monty Gene Deckard, 87 of Branson, MO.

Monty passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at his residence with family at his side. He was born on October 13, 1931 at Mission, TX., son of W.D. and Etta (Scott) Deckard.  Monty served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Anna, in New York, on Aug. 23, 1988. Monty enjoyed playing golf, and he especially enjoyed his pool tournaments.

He survived by his wife, Anna Marie Deckard of the home; children Patrick Calhoun and wife Trudy of Tehachapi, CA., Sherry Calhoun of Branson, MO., Michele Woodward and husband Paul of Paso Robles, CA., and Kim Chabau of Australia; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Monty was preceded in death by his parents; son, Francis M. Calhoun; siblings, Alice Kearney, Sam Deckard, Mary Campbell, Frank Deckard and Lesley Deckard.

Inurnment at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO., with full military honors, will be held at a later date.
