Mr. Lawrence L. Brown “Larry”, 89, Forsyth, passed away Dec. 27, 2023, at Forsyth. A memorial service will be held at a later date, burial will be in the Helphrey Cemetery, Taneyville.
Lawrence Leroy Brown was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Forsyth, Mo. to Wiliam and Florence A. (Bunch) Brown. He graduated from Forsyth High School, Forsyth, Mo. Larry married Dortha Shrum “Dottie” on August 19, 1959, in Harrison, Arkansas. They had celebrated sixty-four years together this past fall. To this union they were blessed with three children. He attended the Pine Ridge Full Gospel Church.
Larry worked for the State Highway Department and upon retirement he worked as a carpenter for Mr. Rogers. He enjoyed being a cowboy, working his farming, being on his tractor and playing the mandolin. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed playing with and having the great grandchildren around.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Florence Brown.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Dottie Brown of the home, one son Carl (Jackie) Brown of Forsyth; two daughters Deborah Bilyeu (Dana) of Forsyth; Rhonda Sneed (Gary) of Springfield, five sisters Kathy Brown, Edith Davidson, Virginia Brown, Carol (Vernon) Dana and Wanda Brown, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
