Kenny Carr Obituary

Kenny Joe Carr was born on September 8, 1949, in Amarillo, TX. He was the son of
Kathaleen C. (Nichols) Holland and James Wesley Holland. Kenny died suddenly at
home on Monday, January 6, 2025, in Forsyth, at the age of 75.

Kenny had attended and graduated from St. Joe High School in St. Joe, AR. He
served briefly in the US Air Force. He was very proud of his service.

Kenny furthered his education at the College of the Ozarks, in Clarksville, AR
obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in
Accounting. He worked for a variety of banks, working his way up in the financial
world, from Auditor to Vice President. Before retiring, his most recent
employment was with Jack Henry & Associates, a company that provides banking
software, mostly to community banks and credit unions.

Kenny lived most of his adult life in various cities in Texas. He moved to this area
in 1995, when Jack Henry offered him a position in Springfield, MO, to be closer to
family. Kenny’s hobbies consisted of hunting, fishing, golf, and most recently
woodworking, making papercrete flowerpots, and taking care of his bees. Kenny
had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved to meet and talk to people. He
always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say to those he met. He was a
volunteer tax preparer at the Missouri Extension in Forsyth, helping with the VITA
Program.

He met Denise Schreib of PA, in the year 2000, through an online chat room. They
were ultimately married on May 17, 2003, in Branson, MO.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathaleen Owen and his stepfather
Archie Owen; brother, Cory Franklin “Frank” Carr and nephew, Owen “Bumper” Carr.

Kenny will be deeply missed by those who survive him: his loving wife, Denise
Carr; mother-in-law Bonnie Schreib of Forsyth; sister-in-law, Tina Schreib of GA;
and sister-in-law Carolina Carr of Forsyth. He will also be missed by numerous
family and friends.
