Joan E. Jenkins

Funeral services for Joan E. Jenkins, 84 of Forsyth, will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 2PM in the Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth. Burial will follow at the Snapp Cemetery, Forsyth. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, 1-2PM at the funeral home.  Mrs. Jenkins entered into rest on Thursday March 7, 2024 at the Republic Nursing and Rehab, Republic. 

Joan Eileen Jenkins was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Arion, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Oscar and Agnes (Tripp) Davis.  She graduated from Carroll High School in Carroll, Iowa.  Joan and her twin sister, June, moved to Kansas City, Missouri where they both worked.  She met Jerry Jenkins, and on December 1962 they were married in Miami, OK.  Jerry and Joan moved to Forsyth from Kansas City, Missouri in the early 1960’s. They were blessed with three children. They loved the area and were proud to raise their children in such a nice community where they had a good education in the Forsyth school system.  Joan worked at different businesses as a secretary including for the bank, newspaper, and real estate companies in Taney County.

Joan enjoyed spending time working on Word Find Games and reading.                                                            

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Ruth Racobs, Bertha Firnhaber, Leota Crabb, George Davis, Denny Davis, Ida Pudenz, her twin June Davis and two sons, Forrest and Tim.

Joan is survived by her daughter Kelly Jenkins of Springfield and many friends.
