Jimmy Kellett Obituary

Jimmy Russell Kellett, age 76, of Taneyville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on July 12, 2026.

Jimmy was born on May 26, 1950, in Branson, Missouri. His mother proudly boasted throughout his life that he was the very first baby born in the newly opened Skaggs Community Hospital in Branson. Growing up in the Ozarks, Jimmy developed a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to his community. Early in his life, he protected his neighbors as a volunteer firefighter and dedicated his skills to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He later joined the Taney County Road and Bridge Department, where he worked hard to maintain the community's infrastructure until his well-deserved retirement.

On May 25, 1991, he was united in marriage to his loving wife and best friend, Shelia Kellett, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of marriage.

A man of deep faith, Jimmy was a dedicated member of Faith Assembly of God in Forsyth, Missouri, where he proudly served his church community as a deacon. He looked forward to every opportunity he could attend, especially enjoying the warmth and community of a church fellowship meal.

Jimmy had a vibrant spirit and loved the simple pleasures of life in the Ozarks. He thoroughly enjoyed camping trips, listening to bluegrass music, and taking pride in mowing his yard. At home, he loved settling in to watch Country’s Family Reunion, classic country-western shows, and episodes of The Real McCoys. Above all, Jimmy cherished the quiet, special moments spent with his beautiful bride, Shelia, listening together to their special song, "All I Have to Offer You Is Me." He was a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Kellett and Fredleen Gross Kellett; his stepfather, Dan Truster; and his cousin, Bob Kenyon, along with Bob's wife, Patsy Kenyon.

Jimmy’s memory will be forever loved and cherished by his surviving family: his devoted wife, Shelia Kellett; his brother, Don Kellett and wife Cynthia; his sister, Judy Coffelt and husband Scott; his beloved Faith Assembly of God church family; and a host of extended relatives, neighbors, and close friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home in Branson. A funeral service celebrating Jimmy's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Faith Assembly of God in Forsyth.
