Funeral services for Jim B. Russell, 89, Taneyville, will be held Friday Aug. 18, 11 AM at the 1st Baptist Church, Forsyth. Pastor Justin Gates will officiate with burial following in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Mr. Russell entered into rest on Monday, Aug. 14 at the Forsyth Care Center. Services are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo.
Jim Brit Russell, was born on May 16, 1934, to Brit and Bessie (Stark) Russell. He married Betty L. Rowland who preceded him in death on May 16, 1994. He later married Beverly (Ewing) Brady. Jim was a lifelong resident and farmer in Taneyville.
He attended the Forsyth 1st Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Jim was a member of the Haworth Chapter, Forsyth Masonic Lodge, and served on the Central Taney County Fire Board. Jim served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, sister Carol Leeke, brother Joe Paul Russell and great- grandson Brindle Sonnenfelt.
Jim is survived by his wife Beverly Russell, children Jimmie Russell (Della) Taneyville; Rick Turner (Ronda) Taneyville; one daughter, Brenda Cummings (Bill) Brown Branch; two step-sons Todd (Cheri) Brady; Scott Brady; brothers Fred Ebert (Barbara), Jack Ebert, Kenny Ebert and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday at the Forsyth 1st Baptist Church from 10AM until service time.
