James Winborne Obituary

James Cavin Winborne was born September 3, 1956 to Claude Dell (Jr) and Gretta Faye (Cavin) Winborne in Sterling, Colorado. Jim spent the first year of his life in Colorado, then moving to Medicine Lodge, Kansas early in 1958.  He attended school in Medicine Lodge, graduating in 1974. On September 6, 1974, he married Shirley Avon Stone. To this union were born two children, Heather Renee in 1976 and Joshua James in 1980.

Jim and Shirley moved to Forsyth, MO in 2000.  Jim was an avid student of history. His hobbies included collecting historical pieces and working with Shirley in their yard. Jim accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of ten.  Through the years many have been blessed to hear Jim sing gospel music, a testimony to his love for the Lord. Jim passed into his Savior’s arms on December 8, 2018.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Claude Winborne.  He is survived by his mother, Gretta Winborne of Cunningham, KS; wife, Shirley Winborne of Forsyth, MO; brother, Dell and wife Sharon Winborne of Pratt, KS; children, Heather Milhoan and husband Brandon of Taneyville, MO and Joshua Winborne of Springfield, MO; and grandchildren, Jeremy Chase and Hallie Faye Evans. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2018 and funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Whelchel Grace Funeral Home.  Services will be conducted by Pastors David Holvick and Jeffrey McCullough.
