James Milfred Sims

James Milfred (Mick) Sims, 91, of Taneyville.

Milfred was born December 14, 1930, in Taneyville, Missouri, the son of Charles Finis and Gertrude (Sullenger) Sims.  He was a life-long resident of Taneyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bill, Roger, Junior, and half-brother Rex David.

Milfred is survived by his brother Gary Sims and wife Mary of Taneyville; and sister-in-law Martha Sims, also of Taneyville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many special friends.

Mick enjoyed farming and raising beef cattle.

In January 1980 Mick opened Mickey’s Feed Store in Taneyville, where he hauled and sold feed for several years until he retired. After retirement he enjoyed cutting and selling wood for several more years. As he got older, he enjoyed sitting on the Feed Store porch reminiscing with customers about the old days in Taneyville.

The family will receive friends at the graveside Wednesday November 2, 2022, at 10:30 AM followed by the Committal Rites at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Howard Kenyon officiating.
