James "Jimmy" Edward Barrett, 54, of Forsyth entered into peaceful rest on December 24th, 2023. He was born June 10th, 1967, in Troy, Missouri. Jimmy was the son of Phillip and Barbara Barrett (Fugate). Jimmy attended the Buchanan High School in Troy, from which he graduated from.
He moved to the Forsyth area, with his family, from St. Louis in 2002. Jimmy enjoyed music as he was a self-taught guitarist, he enjoyed studying and learning, watching Egyptian documentaries, researching and collecting antiques, as well as being interested in Native American history, and going arrowhead hunting. He also was a traditional artist with great talent.
He was preceded in death by his father Phillip Barrett, one younger brother Tyson Barrett, younger sister Hope Shofner (Barrett), a nephew Bradley Barrett, and a niece Stephanie Twellman Barrett.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter Cheyenne Barrett of Hollister; his mother, Barbara Barrett (Fugate) of Forsyth; two older brothers Jeffrey Barrett of Forsyth, and Scott Barrett of Warrenton, Mo; one sister-in-law Kathy Barrett (Spires) of Forsyth as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6th at 1 PM at the Dickens Cemetery, in Taneyville, Mo. Care of the cremation was under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth. Mo.
