Gary Lee May was born August 28, 1950, in Cedar Creek, Missouri to John and Ida (Laughary) May. He entered into rest on May 15, 2024 with his family surrounding him at the age of 73 years .
Gary was a lifelong resident of Taney County. Gary attended and graduated from Forsyth High School. He married Marvia Tweedy on Oct. 26, 1972, at Cedar Creek, Missouri. They had celebrated fifty-one years together last fall. Gray and Marvia were blessed with four children.
Gary had served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. When he returned home, he worked as a diesel mechanic for Table Rock Asphalt, until his retirement. He liked hunting squirrel, deer, turkey and going fishing. As you can tell he enjoyed the outdoors. He was a faithful and devoted man to his family and loved them all from his oldest child down to the youngest grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Emily, and three brothers Gene, Donnie, and Dean.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Marvia, three sons Wayman May, Johnny May wife Amy and Alan May; one daughter Dixie Fontenot husband Dwayne; two brothers John May wife Serene and Ray May, and five grandchildren Makayla, Payton, Jackson, Jacob and Jonathan. He will also be missed by numerous family and friends.
Graveside services were held Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the McCarty Cemetery, Cedar Creek, Mo.
