Flossie “Flirt” Lee Dean, 95, of Protem, Missouri met Jesus on January 22, 2026. She was born in Branson on November 23, 1930 to Troy & Addie Cornelison. She loved her Mom & Pop to the end with many treasured stories of coon hunting with her Pop. Flossie married James Dean on January 31, 1949; where they began their family in Protem on their farm. Together they had one daughter, Linda Lee Henson, & three beloved grandsons that Flossie poured her heart into. Flossie was a loved member of her community where she was known for her beautiful flowers, farming & her hand stitched quilts. She was a member of Rocky Ledge Baptist church for many years.
Flossie & Linda had many memories & spent time together in town shopping. Her love for Linda was shown by how she spoke fondly of her & how she loved Linda’s sons greatly. Flossie was known best as “Mama Dean”. She was held in high regard by her grandsons, great grandchildren, & great-great grandchildren; each having many unique stories of how Mama made them feel loved by the quality time she was always willing to offer; she was never too busy for her grands. Flossie was a strong woman who showed stability & loyalty to her daughter, family, & friends. She was known most often to be found with her grandson Jeramie on many wild adventures outdoors.Making memories with her family was what she loved most!
Flossie enjoyed her flower garden, her cows, & farm life. She most loved mushroom hunting, fishing, and riding along with her grandkids & great grandkids. She has taught many lessons of farm life; including gardening, canning, killing hogs, &; cattle farming, which has been carried down through many generations making a lasting legacy of the simpler cherished ways of life for her family.
Flossie is preceded in death by her husband; James Dean, parents; Troy & Addie Cornelison, brothers; Art & Alvin Cornelison, sisters; Faye Whorton, Rosie Roach, Helen Youngblood, Hazel Ervin and Alene Pickett. She is survived by her daughter; Linda Henson (husband Randy), grandsons; Jeramie Henson (Nina), Chance Henson (Kara), Garrett Henson (Nikki), great grandchildren, Chandy Dees (Billy), Trey Henson (Mariah), Aubrey Strahan (Lance), Weston Henson, Hadley Henson, Carter Hendrickson, Kloe Hendrickson, Camden Hendrickson, great-great grands; Treylynn, Emberlynn, & Truitt Henson, Linley & Hartley Dees; & many friends of her community.
Funeral services will be held at Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel, Forsyth, Mo., 11 Am Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026. Pastor Jeramie Henson will officiate. Burial will follow at the Protem Cemetery, Protem, Mo. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 28th from 10:00 AM until service.
