Easther May Moser, 93 of Kimberling City, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2023. Born on May 16, 1930, in Green Forest, AR, Easther was the cherished daughter of the late George and Lilie (Shrum) VanHorn.
Easther was a woman of many talents and interests. She was a dedicated dietician in a local nursing home, where she brought joy and comfort to many residents with her caring nature and warm smile. In addition to her professional work, Easther had a wide range of hobbies that she pursued with great enthusiasm. She enjoyed creating beautiful crochet pieces that were treasured by her family and friends. Easther also had a unique interest in restoring old cars, particularly Model T and Model A vehicles. Her love for vintage automobiles extended to John Deere tractors, which she restored with the same meticulous attention to detail.
Easther's culinary skills were legendary, especially her pecan pies. These delicious treats were a highlight of family gatherings and were enjoyed by all who were fortunate enough to taste them.
Easther was predeceased by her parents, George and Lilie VanHorn; her husbands, George Johnson and Mr. Moser; and her son, Arthur Johnson. She is survived by her brothers, Gerald VanHorn (Fay) of Kimberling City, MO, and Kenny VanHorn (Shirley) of Ozark, MO; her sister, Patsy Davis of Buffalo, MO; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and cousins.
Easther’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 in the Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm with funeral services following at 2:00 pm. Easther will be laid to rest at a later date in Brown Cemetery, Cedarcreek.
