Dorothy Mae Erland, 98, of Branson, MO.
Dorothy Mae Erland passed away Tuesday May 28, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 3, 1920 in Cedar Rapids, IA., to Albert and Anna (Ockenfels).
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carol Wayne Erland; son Wayne Erland; seven brothers and sisters; and grandson Jeff Erland. She is survived by daughters Rita (Louie) West, Janice (Maurice) Barth, Joyce Sullivan, Larry Erland; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and her loving companion of 18 years Ralph Vincent.
Dorothy and Carol farmed in Iowa until 1970 when they made the decision to retire to Branson. After settling in Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Branson. She loved her family and had a servant’s heart, spending many hours volunteering at Jesus Was Homeless making sandwiches for those less fortunate. She also made quilts for the homeless. A very special moment in Dorothy’s life was when she won a Texas two-step dance championship in Illinois.
Dorothy loved flowers and birds, and playing in bowling leagues for 35 years; but, most of all, she loved her family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts to Hospice Compassus.
