Dianna Doris Swords, 74, of Forsyth, Missouri, died unexpectedly May 18, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas.
She was born August 23, 1951, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the daughter of Anthony and Elise (Hartman) Dakuras. Dianna graduated from Rezin Orr High School Chicago, Illinois, and later graduated from Mayfair College, School of Nursing, in Chicago, Illinois, in 1972.
She dedicated her life to being a nurse in the Dialysis Department of St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City for 18 years. She later worked for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment as a State Surveyor before retirement.
She married Garry Lynn Swords on October 1, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had lived in Meriden, Kansas, until moving to Forsyth in 2016.
Survivors include Garry of the home in Forsyth; daughters, Kathryn Grace Diaz, Kansas, and Rebecca A. Berner, Lawrence, KS, Garry’s children, Shannon LeRoyce Winn, Salina, KS, Cory Duke Swords (MaryEllen), Wichita, KS, Shelby Louise Swords, Lawrence, KS; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Dianna was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother.
Celebration of Life service for Dianna will be Saturday, June 6, 2026, 11:00 AM at the Forsyth Christian Church, Forsyth, Mo. Pastor Jack Holland and Mike Shockley will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at the Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, Kansas. Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2026, from 6-7 PM at Forsyth Christian Church, Forsyth, Mo.
