Dennis Santee Obituary

Dennis Lee Santee, 59, of Forsyth, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Kansas University Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.  Dennis was born December 27, 1962, to Henrietta (Luppen) and Charles Santee in Charles City, Iowa.

Dennis worked a variety of jobs over his life, including on a farm, for the Iowa Department of Transportation, and running his own DJ and carpentry/handyman businesses. Dennis grew up in and spent the majority of his life in the Charles City area.  For the past 15 years, Dennis resided with his sons in Topeka, Kansas and Forsyth, Missouri.

Dennis loved spending time with his sons, taking them fishing, to museums, monster truck events, races, and fishing.  Regardless of what life brought him, Dennis loved to tell jokes – something he continued to do until the end.  As his health deteriorated, Dennis was grateful for the special time spent with his sons and his mom.

Dennis is survived by his mother Henrietta (Glen) Curtis, sons Casey and Ethan Santee, four siblings: Doug (Ramona) Santee, Charles City, Iowa; Sandy (Gene) Reams, Topeka, Kansas; Steve (Roxie) Santee; LaVergna, Tennessee; and Cindy Santee, Forsyth, Missouri; four aunts:  Lila LaRue, Marjorie Aswegan, Caroline Troutner, and Frances Van Ellen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Santee, step-fathers Henry Fikse (Mason City, Iowa) and Glen Curtis (Forsyth, Missouri), maternal Grandparents, Fred and Etta Luppen; paternal Grandparents, Herb and Velma Santee; his nephew, Adam Reams; and his great-niece, Jocey Hodges.

Inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, his sons would appreciate assistance with funeral expenses.
