Cecil Dwenlon Shawver, born January 2, 1920, in Shelbyville, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord February 19, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis Christopher and Daisy Esther (Stockdale) Shawver; his wife Rita (Rasmussen) Shawver; sister Zenola Shawver; and son Edward Shawver.
He is survived by his sons Cecil L. Shawver and wife Beverly of Kissee Mills, Missouri; daughter Esther Garrette and husband John of Joliet, Illinois; son Gregory Shawver and wife Anna of Kissee Mills, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Cecil was 103 years of age at his death and was a World War II veteran. He drove a truck for 40 years.
Burial will take place Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Joliet, Illinois, with Full Military Honors.
