Carol passed away on August 13, 2019 at her home in Forsyth.
Carol was born June 28th, 1942 in Ridgedale, Missouri, the daughter of Mitchel Melton and Annie Estella Wyer Ford. She attended public school in Branson, graduating with the class of 1960. Carol was always cheerful and looked for the bright side of every situation. She was a trained carpenter and an excellent finish carpenter. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, stock trading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh, especially if it was at her own expense. She truly made the day brighter for everyone around her.
Carol is survived by her son, Steve Pettit, of West Plains, Missouri; her daughter Pam Taylor and husband, Chuck, of Forsyth; daughter-in-law Debra Pettit of West Plains; five grandchildren, Mitch Taylor of Springfield, Whitney Taylor of New York City, Terryl Coffel and husband, Aaron, of West Plains, Kirsten Mitchell and husband, Ken, of West Plains, Rachel Ousley and husband, Mason, of Pensacola, FL; four great-grandchildren, Bailey Coffel, Brody Coffel, Robert Mitchell, and Kaylyn Mitchell of West Plains; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Adrian Ford, Henry Ford, Albert Ford, and two sisters, Edna Ford Eastland and Jean Elizabeth Ford.
A wake will be held at Fat Daddy's BBQ in Forsyth, MO from 6-8pm on Friday, August 16, 2019. All family and friends are invited to come and celebrate Carol's life.
