Carol Dean Rowbotham was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law and friend. She left this world on July 17, 2021, at the age of 83.
She was born to Edgar and Cordella (Dugger) Davis on May 14, 1938, in Welch, Oklahoma. She married Gene Rowbotham on December 2, 1956, in Payson, IL. Together they raised 5 children in Quincy Illinois while working for Motorola. In 1975 they moved to Protem, Missouri to take over the Pioneer General Store from her parents. They successfully ran the family business until passing it down to their daughter, Lisa in 2004.
Carol loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader and always ready to play any type of cards or games. She enjoyed going to sporting events, Branson shows, traveling and shopping. She especially loved singing in the choir at church and had a passion for cooking.
Carol is survived by her husband Gene; 5 children, Geff Rowbotham and his wife Jackie; Lora and Doug Sanders; Lisa Jennings and her husband John; Tammy Bechtel and husband Les; Tim Rowbotham and his wife Molly; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday July 20th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rocky Ledge Baptist church at 173 Clarkson Road in Protem, Missouri.
A Graveside Service is scheduled for Wednesday July 21st at 10:30 a.m. at the Protem Cemetery.
Carol was our rock, voice of reason, positive influence and the calm in our storms.
